Raju's, Sepang Gold Coast & Mama's Kitchen.

After a sleepover of watching Friends reruns and Stick It (a gymnastics movie from when we were younger), I took Rie to Raju's because shockingly enough, she had not been there before?!

"OMG my first time here & I get a balloon. WIN!"
We got the balloon because I donated RM20 to a spastic children charity :)

Anyone who has had Raju's roti canai and sotong goreng (I LOVE SOTONG) knows just how good it is. I can't believe I stopped going there for years after I moved away from Section 6. Good to know the standard of their food has remained, or if anything, improved. Their service however.. meh.

Alwin joined us there and we really wanted to do something fun. We went through Laser Tag, Beanie Plex, Karaoke and finally we decided to head to the beach! We chose Sepang Gold Coast because none of us had actually been there before. Tapao'ed some dim sum, got some alcohol and beach necessities and we were off with the aim to watch the sunset.

It obviously wasn't white sand & clear water but it was better than I had expected :) The beach area was relatively clean (surprising, knowing Malaysian's and littering) and it wasn't too crowded.

Say hello to my make-up less face! :D

We went up to the shore and it had this orange foamy stuff along the shore line. I have no clue what it was and it kinda grossed me out but it didn't seem to bother anybody else so I guess it's nothing? We basically had the beach to ourselves by 7.30. Planned to stay and catch the stars but we got hungry :( Nevermind, next time!

My little child & her sand castle :)

Over all, it was a good trip :) Though, you should note that the place is a bit deceiving. When you reach the Sepang circuit, you assume the beach is just a short drive away but NO. It is at least a 30 minutes drive deeeeeeeeeeeeep inside.

Ended the night with dinner at Mama's Kitchen in TTDI. Rie has gone on about their butter prawns for so long and I finally got to try it. LOVED IT. Definitely wanna head back there and try their butter squid next time. I told you, I love me my sotong. The prices range from RM15-25 on average for small portions which were more than enough for 3 people.

Gym time!

Busaba Heavenly Thai & Ben's General.

My surprise filled Monday ended with a lovely dinner at Busaba Heavenly Thai in BSC. Initially we wanted to try out the newly (or am I outdated?) opened Just Heavenly Cafe but their kitchen closes by 9. Since I've ate at Busaba before and I am always up for some good Thai food, I suggested it and thankfully their kitchen opens until 10pm :)

We ordered the usual choices (because we love it and you can't go wrong). I strongly recommend people to try the place out if you haven't yet! The ambiance is lovely with colorful but elegant cushions and the prices range from about RM20-30 per dish on average.

After a rather sinful dinner last night, Ben & I decided to further indulge during tea earlier at Ben's General in Publika. This is my first time trying out their desserts and coffee but I have frequented the place for brunch/lunch multiple times and I do enjoy the comfort food that they offer :)

I haven't travelled much but I've been to Melbourne twice and ever since I've drank the coffee there (I could definitely be considered a coffee addict during my fortnights there), the coffee Malaysia has to offer pales in comparison tremendously. So, sadly I rarely ever drink it. There's nothing to shout about the Cappuccino I had but I enjoyed my cup nevertheless.

The Macadamia Cheesecake on the other hand had a rich taste and texture! Definitely going back for more of this cheesy goodness. The Caramel Choco Banana was alright but I can do without it during my next visit. I ended up feeling guilty and packed some of their side salads home for dinner. Their corn & crabmeat salad is my favorite of the lot.

I can't wait to hit the gym tomorrow to work off all the yummy food.

Early birthday surprise!

About 3 weeks ago, Ben told me she would be kidnapping me near my birthday. So when the day came (which was on Monday the 8th) I just assumed we were going for tea somewhere nice and put on a summer dress because the weather was amazing (rare in Malaysia).

I'd like to believe I was a very obedient victim because I didn't ask any questions during the car ride. That was until we reached Phileo Damansara and I was like "what the hell could be over here?

All Ben & Rie would say to me was "you'll never guess it". My eyes were closed all the way up the lift and they guided me into a strange, unfamiliar office space where I heard a man's voice. At this point I was completely lost and had no clue what they were trying to pull off.

My phone rang and I was told to answer it. I swear, I can't explain the surprise and confusion when I opened my eyes to a recording studio and Lih Wen on the phone.

"Omg, what?! What?! Wait why is Wen otp?" (I didn't know which to deal with first)
"What! Why can't I be otp? Huh huh huh?"

That's when I put the pieces together and realized it was her idea. How blessed am I to have a friend who takes the effort to surprise me all the way from Sydney? Even more so with something so heartfelt and supportive (okay, I can cry again now).

This is me. Surprised + laughing + crying.

She had it all planned out and I was to sing Brighter Than The Sun by Colbie Caillat. You see, over the past few weeks she had been pestering me to try singing some of her favorite songs and see if I liked singing it. She told me it was because she wanted me to make a cover of it for her (now it all makes sense, sneaky sneaky girl). Knowing I would probably take forever to actually make one, I guess she just decided to take matters into her own hands haha!

I had so much fun recording the song. What an amazing experience and I can finally cross it off my bucket list! Also, definitely something I would like to do again in the near future especially with the amazing response I have been getting from people. So so so overwhelming :')

Of course, none of this could've happened without her little minions.
I have the best friends ever. Everybody should be jealous. BE JEALOUS.

Enjoy! :)

#1.

Why hello there :)

So, the logic behind me getting back into the bloggersphere is that I want to use this blog as a journal/motivator to look over my progress and keep me going in all that I hope to achieve with my turned over leaf.

This involves working out, eating healthy regularly but still giving in to the foodie in me (toughest part yet). Singing and performing more often because I've realized just how happy it makes me. Last but most importantly, doing well in the 3rd semester of my Psych degree.

You can also expect to see bits of fashion & food reviews here :)

Truthfully, I've slowly been losing faith in myself and this is just another shot at getting back up.
That's the thing with new leaves, you can just keep turning them over.
